Maryland Athletics
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – No. 2 Maryland battles No. 10 Louisville for a spot in the College Cup Saturday in the quarterfinals of the 2012 NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. at Ludwig Field.
The Terps (19-1-2) were sparked by a two-goal showing from junior Sunny Jane en route to a 5-1 win against Coastal Carolina in third round action last Sunday. With the win, Maryland registered its fourth quarterfinal berth in the past five seasons.
Louisville (14-5-1) defeated Northwestern in its round-of-16 match Sunday. The Cardinals are 8-1-1 in their last 10 outings.
Maryland is 2-1 all-time against Louisville including a 3-0 victory against the Cardinals in the 2012 season opener. Louisville picked up a 4-2 win at Maryland in the third round of the NCAA tournament last season to advance to the quarterfinals.
