Tennessee midfielder/defender Caitlin Foley transfers to Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Lori Walker-Hock, now in her 25th season as head coach of the Buckeyes, added Caitlin Foley to the Fall 2021 roster.
No stranger to Ohio State, Foley is a native of Springfield, Ohio, where she played at Catholic Center High School.
Here grandfather, David Foley, was an All-American and All-Big Ten offensive tackle at Ohio State and served as captain of the Buckeyes’ 1968 national championship team. He also was named Academic All-Big Ten in 1966 and 1968, earning First Team honors in 1966. In 1968, David Foley was an NFF & College Football Hall of Fame Scholarship Winner, one of 21 in Ohio State history.
Caitlin, a midfielder/defender, will be a sophomore with the Buckeyes following a freshman campaign at Tennessee, where she played in three games.
Ohio State finished the 2021 Spring Season with an 8-3-3 record, advancing to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. After a second-place finish in the 2021 Big Ten regular-season race, Buckeyes defeated Stony Brook (5-1) in the opening round of the 2021 (Spring) NCAA Tournament before a loss to eventual national champion Santa Clara.

- Played for Springfield Catholic Central HS under head coach Mark Derr
- Ranked as the No. 62 midfielder, No. 137 player overall on the IMG Academy 150 for the Class of 2020
- Served as a class officer, student council officer and student ambassador at CCHS
- Volunteered with Springfield of Dreams and Relay for Life for four years
- Member of the National Honor Society and A honor roll all four years
- Also ran cross country for CCHS for two seasons
- Played club soccer for five-time ECNL national finalist Ohio Premier, based in Columbus
- Helped Ohio Premier finish second at the ECNL nationals in 2016 and third in 2019

- Her father played college football at Bowling Green, where he was a First Team All-Conference center
