U.S. U-20 MNT win 1-0 against University of Washington to wrap camp
The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team defeated the University of Washington 1-0 on the strength of an 89th-minute goal from U.S. midfielder Victor Pineda.
Former U.S. Soccer Development Academy and current Chicago Fire product Pineda converted a penalty kick for the win against the Huskies at the NIKE campus. Second-half sub James Rogers was taken down inside the box during a quick break about eight yards from the goal to earn the penalty.
The match was the final test of a week-long camp in Oregon for which U.S. U-20 MNT head coach Tab Ramos called in 24 players. It was the team’s third camp of 2012.
